It has been a whirlwind tour of Melbourne and surrounds that I have just completed!

Firstly, a momentous thank you and apology to Patricia Telle for making the tour possible and throwing an awesome 40th Birthday Party (although still passing for 30!), I hope my presence was worth the outlay:)

I was able to stay with a lot of friends while on tour and thank you's must go out to those who put me up and made me very comfortable during my stays; Krystal & Simon, Patricia Telle, Carolyn & JoJo, Tamarie Buckland, Dad & Mandy, and of course Krystal & Simon again:)

A special thanks to Shane for driving my sorry ass around, and to my man Zane for picking me up and making me so eager to get home again..

Replacing the old with the new...

Just a quick note...

Just a quick FYI to my few followers, you may notice that the option to buy 'The 12 Apostles' clothing is no longer available, this is because I have decided to launch my own 'JUSTINJAMES' clothing label early next year.  'The 12 Apostles' series will still however be released as Limited Edition Prints from Red Bubble..

And some Sexy Gods...Just Because...

Using words that no-one understands?

I recently began reading a new release novel, a mainstream fantasy, the author will remain nameless, but suffice it to say the author is well known and has a proven track record for bestsellers.  In fact I absolutely loved one of this authors series I read it more than once.
BUT as I mentioned, I started reading this new work, which is the first in a new series, and I'm not wrapped in it..  The basic storyline is great, I can see it will be an excellent series, the writing is fantastic, BUT the author is using words from an "ancient language" within the dialogue, so much so that I need to keep flipping to the "terms" page in the back of the book.  Annoying much?  I can hear you say "You'll memorize them and it will be all good", that maybe so, in time, but 11 or 12 different "terms" in one page just makes my head want to explode, its goes so far as feeling like studying a medical journal..  I think it can quickly take a story from being enchanting to educationally taxing..  Thumbs down to Ancient Languages no-one understands without a glossary..

When was the last time you toured the Empire?

After an all day facelift, Dare Empire is looking bigger and better than ever before.  I have today given my space a clean, crisp feel and an easier, clearer experience for all my visitors.  Head over now and take a tour, there is much to see..

Beach Day @ Surfers Paradise

some inspiring lyrics from Emmylou Harris, and Kate & Anna McGarrigle

All I left behind, should come as no surprise
To me since I fell through the black hole of your eyes
Only little things inconsequential I could say
Of all I left behind with you along the lost highway
Silver earrings in Wichita
Beaded moccasins in Tonapah
But I had you so, I just let them go
The flannel shirt I wore, to keep me from the cold
When we drove from Boston all the way to Buffalo
The leather boots I bought so many miles ago
I took them off to follow you into the Ohio
Never did my armor feel so thin
When silk was all I had between me and your skin
Like Waterloo, I lost that too
And the golden bracelet with my fathers name inscribed
on the back by the one who loved him all her life
The way I too, could have loved you
The spanish shawl I put across the broken shade
of the lamp that lit the room
That last night in Cour d' Alene
Only little things, inconsequential I could say
Of all I left behind with you, along the lost highway
Of All I Left Behind

RELEASE - Andrew, Brother Of Simon - Piece Three of 'The 12 Apostles'

Andrew, Brother Of Simon, is said to have been martyred by crucifixion at the city of Patras (Patræ) in Achaea, on the northern coast of the Peloponnese. Early texts, such as the Acts of Andrew known to Gregory of Tours, describe Andrew as bound, not nailed, to a Latin cross of the kind on which Jesus is said to have been crucified; yet a tradition developed that Andrew had been crucified on a cross of the form called Crux decussata (X-shaped cross, or "saltire"), now commonly known as a "Saint Andrew's Cross" — supposedly at his own request, as he deemed himself unworthy to be crucified on the same type of cross as Jesus had been (though of course, the privilege of choosing one's own method of execution is a rare privilege, indeed). "The familiar iconography of his martyrdom, showing the apostle bound to an X-shaped cross, does not seem to have been standardized before the later Middle Ages," Judith Calvert concluded after re-examining the materials studied by Louis Réau that Andrew was in fact was crucified upon a diagonal or X-shaped cross.
